Ingredients:

  • Puff Pastry
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Nutella
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • 1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Confectioners Sugar
  • Chocolate Syrup

Instructions:

Pre-heat your oven to 400°F.

Begin by unfolding your puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the puff pastry in three, cutting along the lines. Then, cut each rectangle into four smaller rectangles. Place the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until they reach a golden color.

Next, place the puff pastry on a wire rack to cool. Once they are cool, cut them in half by following the natural crease of the pastry. Spread the Nutella on the "bottom" pieces, followed by the whipped cream (see below for instructions on how to make the whipped cream), and sliced strawberries. I put a little extra whipped cream on top of the strawberries to act as a glue, so that the layers stick together more easily. Top the pastry with more whipped cream and fresh slices of strawberry.

Instructions for the Whipped Cream:

Before making the whipped cream, place your mixing bowl and whisk attachment in the fridge or freezer.

In a mixing bowl, pour the pint of heavy whipping cream and begin mixing on a low speed using the whisk attachment. Add in half of a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Once the heavy whipping cream begins to form, begin adding in confectioners sugar. While I did not use an exact measurement for the confectioners sugar, I used about a cup and a half to reach my desired consistency. Continue to whisk on a medium speed until the whipped cream is formed.

For the presentation, I drizzled chocolate syrup overtop of the pastry, sifted some confectioners sugar over the dish, and garnished with fresh strawberries.

This dessert is the perfect treat for any occasion and it tastes as delicious as it looks! Tag me in your creations @TheSweetPaisana on Instagram and Facebook. Buon Appetito!
